Simplicity Pattern 1099
This pattern was easy to follow. I did omit the zipper instructions. I always do my zippers especially my invisible zippers the same way all the time. The only issue with this pattern was the side zipper. Well, I wouldn't necessarily say that it was an issue it was just I had never done one before. I was trying to install the zipper according to the instructions and after a while worth of FAILURE, I said forget this and did what I do!
The one thing I disliked about the pattern was the absence of the finished garment measurements for the skirt. I measured the waist myself but I forgot to take into consideration the 1 1/2 inch hook closure which is a significant difference of course. Now, I don't know if I overlooked the measurements, but I could not find them at all. Yep!! I made a skirt that was entirely too small in the waist. Crazy!! I still wore it though lol!
The fabric used for the skirt was a shuntang and a rayon/poly blend for the top. The top was easy to make once I got started. I will be making this again. Stay tune.
No alterations were made. This pattern was made as instructed. Here is the pattern
