We moved into our house in 2011, a few months after we married. I have yet to really do the things that I would like done to my house. My husband wants our house to look like a model home. Please. I just want it to look "lived" in. We had to purchase more furniture because of the size of our house and we have a lot of walls. I am the type of person that has an eye for certain things so, when I see that particular item I "gotta" get it.
I am currently working on my master bedroom. I have the color scheme, furniture and window treatments down to the T. I know what I want and how I want it to look. I do not want to work on any other part of the house until our master bedroom is complete. Then I wonder will it ever be complete. SMH.
While on Pinterest searching for ideas I came across a post titled, "10 ways to make your house look expensive." I thought, "well why not since I have a "Beer Budget!" While looking through the list one of the suggestions were to paint our interior doors black. I thought to myself, "Black! Who would paint their doors black. That sounds awful." Well I continued to look into that idea and found pictures of black doors similar to our layout upstairs. I thought it was gorgeous. I showed my husband and he was all for it! He was so much for it that he began painting the next few days.
He used Behr Better Black satin finish paint and Behr primer.
2' and 4' foam rollers (no brushes)
All doors were removed from the hinges and door handles removed.
I have to say that my husband did an EXCELLENT job!
A professional painter told my husband that he would charge $50 per door. OOOKAAAAY! 50 multiply by 17 doors. I will leave it up to do to do the math. I believe we spent $80. Thinking like a Johnson Babbyyy!
BEFORE PICTURES: UPSTAIRS AND DOWNSTAIRS WE HAVE A TOTAL OF 17 DOORS.
