The Polka Dot Skirt
I have come to realize that the quality of a garment is so important. I was surfing the web one day on the hunt for fabric! I love fabric and I am always trying to find something different. Well I managed to find a unique fabric but after I completed my project I had second thoughts. Wow! Lack of confidence. Well I purchased this satin polka dot fabric from Onlinefabric.com I believe. Their prices were very reasonable and customer service was excellent!! I will continue to do business with them. Now, back to the fabric. This fabric is lovely coupled with a mesh netting for my lining. It gave this skirt life. I love it!!! This is a delicate fabric and a small needle needs to be used as well as hand stitching when possible. I used the following pattern which is out of print and the mesh netting I purchased at my local Hancocks.
These are the panels that I lined. I did a basting stitch by hand on each panel prior to sewing. I did serger all my piece due to fraying. This fabric frays at the slightest touch! (jk) but I would recommending that you serger before handling.
This is the finished product. I love the pleats. I installed an invisible zipper and there are pockets on the each side. The hem was hand stitched. I am taking custom orders for this skirt please contact me @email@example.com
